GLASSBORO, NJ – The College of New Jersey women’s soccer team had a 2-0 shutout over Rowan University in the last conference game of the regular season.

TCNJ, ranked third in the nation, is 15-0-1 overall. The Lions finished with an 8-0-1 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). Rowan is 14-3 overall with a 7-2 NJAC record. The Lions are the number one seed in the NJAC Championship Tournament while Rowan is the second, both teams receive a bye in the first round on October 27.

The top six teams in the conference advance to the championship tournament. The semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, October 30 and the final will be played on Friday, November 2. The NJAC champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Midfielder Dana DiBruno (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) scored the first goal at 34:47. DiBruno hit the lower left corner of the net and midfielder Kristen Cubicciotti (sr. N. Haledon, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) had the assist. Midfielder Gina Colati (fr. Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley) added an insurance goal at 81:37. Colati blasted a shot from 40 yards out that just went under the center of the crossbar. It was DiBruno’s 11th goal on the season and the second for Colati.

TCNJ out shot Rowan, 18-3. In the Lions’ goal, Jessica Clarke (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) made two saves for her eighth shutout of the year. For the Profs, goalkeeper Sarah Volkomer (so. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) stopped eight shots.
