GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Danielle Miranda scored two goals in Rowan University’s 4-1 win over Alvernia College on Tuesday night.
The Profs also had one goal from forwards Amanda Greene (jr. Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester City) and Kiley Graham (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee). Forward Rachel Cheafsky (sr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) and back Kacey Ehret (so. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) contributed with one assist apiece.
Forward Janelle Lynch (so. Macungie, PA/Brandywine Heights) had Alvernia’s lone goal. Rowan is ranked 11th in the nation with an 11-4 record while Alvernia is 14-5 overall. The Profs totaled 16 shots and the Crusaders took six. In the Alvernia goal, Audrey Hoffman (jr. Mertztown, PA/Brandywine Heights) stopped seven shots. For Rowan, goalie Amanda Cucinotti (sr. Voorhees, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) made two saves.
All of the scoring came in the first half. Graham put the Profs on the scoreboard first with an unassisted goal at 00:40. Lynch followed with an unassisted goal at 1:10 that tied the score. Miranda (sr. Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) scored two straight goals. The first one (23:08) was assisted by Ehret and the second (27:41) came on a pass by Cheafsky. Greene wrapped up the scoring at 29:12.
