Women's Volleyball Plays Final Day at Crusader Classic

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team played two matches on the final day of the Crusader Classic. York College (PA) defeated Rowan, 3-0 and Richard Stockton College won 3-0. The two-day classic was held at Susquehanna University.

York College was the Crusader Classic champion with a 4-0 match record. Catholic was the runner-up with a 3-1 mark and Richard Stockton took third place (2-2). Rowan University’s outside hitters Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Siobahn Young (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) were named to the All-Tournament team.

Against York, Louie totaled 11 kills, five digs and one block. Young contributed with eight digs, three kills and three blocks. Setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) compiled 20 assists, five digs and one block. York won 30-16, 30-13 and 30-27.

Young had 13 kills and seven digs against Richard Stockton. Louie added nine kills and six digs. Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) collected six kills, three digs, four service aces and one block. Richard Stockton had game scores of 30-18, 30-19 and 30-28.

Rowan (9-14) travels to New Jersey City University on Tuesday, October 23 for its last conference match of the regular season at 7 p.m.
