Women's Cross Country Finishes Second and Men are First at CTCs

POMONA, NJ – The Rowan University men’s cross country team took first place at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships and the women finished second. The championships were held at Richard Stockton College on Saturday.

Rowan's Katelyn Sammon (sr. Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) took sixth place in 20:35.38 over the 5,000 meters. Angela Patane (jr. Monroeville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) finished ninth (20:47.68). Liz Guarini (fr. Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Kerry O’Donnell (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) were 11th (20:57.29) and 12th (20:59.52) respectively. Laura O’Mara (so. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) finished 15th (21:17.40).

Mike Rivera (jr. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley) came in second with a time of 20:08.36 on the 6,000 meters course. Greg Kuczynski (jr. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) finished fourth (20:17.96) followed by Eric Thomas (jr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) fifth (20:18.77) and Andrew Vasta (jr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) sixth (20:25.35). The fifth runner to score was Dan Ratty (jr. Tenafly, NJ/Tenafly) in ninth place (20:57.65). 

Rowan returns to Richard Stockton College on Saturday, October 27 for the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships at 10:30 a.m.
