GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team shut out Rutgers-Camden, 3-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night.

Rowan improves to 6-7 overall and 4-1 in the conference, while Rutgers-Camden has a 0-17 overall record and a 0-4 NJAC mark. The Profs won with game scores of 30-10, 30-9 and 30-13.

Outside hitter Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) led the way with 13 kills and 11 digs. She posted a .591 hitting percentage. Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) followed with 10 kills and a .381 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Siobahn Young (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) recorded nine kills, 13 digs and a .364 hitting percentage. Setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) totaled 30 assists and five aces. Defensive specialist Casey Roselle (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) racked up 10 service aces and 15 digs.

For the Scarlet Raptors, middle hitter Marci Polite (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) had five kills and five digs. Outside hitter Elizabeth Sitler (fr. Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) contributed with five digs. Outside hitter Ebony Childers (so. Stratford, NJ/Camden County Tech.) added six digs and two blocks.

Rowan travels to Gwynedd-Mercy College for a tri-match on Saturday, October 6. Rowan will play Albright College at noon and Gwynedd-Mercy at 2 p.m. Rutgers-Camden is at Philadelphia Biblical University on Thursday, October 4 at 7 p.m.
