GLASSBORO, NJ – The Ramapo College women’s volleyball team defeated Rowan University, 3-2 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night.

The Roadrunners improve to 15-6 overall and 3-3 in the conference. The Profs have a 9-10 overall record and 4-3 NJAC mark. Ramapo won with game scores of 30-24, 21-30, 30-22, 24-30 and 16-14.

Ramapo was led by outside hitter Maureen Hennecke (so. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) with 20 kills and 18 digs. Outside hitter Meagan Taege (fr. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) added 15 digs and 12 kills. Setter Ashley Cornett (sr. Hawthorne, NJ/Hawthorne) compiled 45 assists and 23 digs. Libero Christine Simmons (sr. Upper Saddle River, NJ/Northern Highlands) recorded a match-high 42 digs. Middle hitter Juliana DaCosta (so. Dumont, NJ/Dumont) added six blocks.

For Rowan, outside hitter Siobahn Young (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) totaled 25 kills and 20 digs. Outside hitter Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) followed with 18 kills and 40 digs. Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) had 11 kills, 16 digs and three blocks. Setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) posted 54 assists and 20 digs. Libero Casey Roselle (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) and defensive specialist Kacey Gee (fr. Middletown, DE/Caravel Academy) contributed with 18 and 15 digs respectively.

Rowan travels to the Crusader Classic in Selinsgrove, PA on Friday-Saturday, October 19-20. On Friday, Rowan faces Catholic University at 6 p.m. and host Susquehanna University at 8 p.m. Rowan plays York College (PA) at noon and Richard Stockton College at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
