IMMACULATA, PA – Midfielder Giovanni DeMartini scored the game winning goal in overtime for Immaculata University in a 2-1 victory over visiting Rowan University on Monday.

DeMartini had the game winner with an assist from midfielder Alan Lorentz at 7:47 into the first sudden victory overtime. Immaculata is 5-5 on the season while Rowan is 5-5-1 overall.

Lorentz had the Mighty Macs’ first goal on a direct kick at 9:21. In the second half, Rowan forward Dwayne Reevey (sr. Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) tied the score at 46:41 and midfielder Andrew Ocbo (fr. Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Twp.) had the assist.

Rowan out shot Immaculata, 19-8. In the Might Macs’ goal, Stone Gahagan stopped six shots. For the Profs, goalie Kevin Nuss (sr. Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) made one save.

Rowan is back home on Wednesday, October 3 against Wilkes University at 7 p.m.
