GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men’s cross country team took second place at the Hofstra Inivitational on Saturday. The women’s team finished in third place. The 5K course was at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, NY.

Erik Geisinger (sr. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) and Daniel Urban (sr. Clarksboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) finished in fourth (16:10.69) and fifth place (16:14.72), respectively. Michael Rivera (so. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley) crossed the finish line in 16:25.57 for eighth place. Rounding out the team scoring were Greg Kuczynski (so. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) 10th (16:49.48) and Andrew Vasta (so. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) 14th (17:14.62).

Laura Blittman (fr. Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) won the women’s race with a time of 20:36.57. Katelyn Sammon (jr. Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) came in 10th place in 22:25.89 and Jennifer Lippincott (fr. Magnolia, NJ/Gloucester) took 12th in 22:54.95. Laura O’Mara (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) and Dana Baffuto (so. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) finished in 15th (23:11.28) and 19th place (24:22.93), respectively.

The Profs return to action on Saturday, September 16 at the NYU Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park at 10 a.m.
