Rowan Blanks Opponent Neumann, For Second Shutout In Two Days, 4-0

GLASSBORO, NJ - Midfielder Susan Massara scored two goals and assisted on one more to lead the Rowan University field hockey team to a 4-0 win over Neumann College in the Black-Eyed Susan Tournament hosted by Villa Julie College.

Massara (jr. Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) gave the Profs a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal at 15:01. Midfielder Kimberly Brozosky (so. Richwood, NJ/Clearview Reg.) added a goal at 33:06 to put Rowan up 2-0 at the half. The goal was assisted by forward Danielle Miranda (jr. Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive). Forward Rachel Cheafsky (jr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) found the net at 61:22 off a pass from Massara. Cheafsky assisted on Massara’s final goal at 69:12.

Rowan outshot Neumann, 30-0. Goalie Amanda Cucinotti (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) earned the shutout for the Profs. Chelsea Ward (jr. Willingboro, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) stopped 13 shots for the Knights.

Rowan will host Washington College (MD), in its home opener on Thursday, September 7 at 7 p.m.
