BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rowan University cross country teams competed at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday that was held at Lehigh University. The Rowan men took seventh place while the women finished 26th.

There were 220 collegiate and high school cross country teams that came to the Goodman Campus for the 33rd Brooks Paul Short Invitational. There were eight different races held. The men’s college open was 8,000 meters while the women’s college open course was 6,000 meters.

The Prof men were led by Erik Geisinger (sr. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) who finished fourth with a time of 26:08. Dan Urban (sr. Clarksboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) had a 19th place (26:43) and Mike Rivera (so. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley) was 47th (27:13). Also scoring were Andrew Vasta (so. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) 65th (27:28) and Greg Kuczynski (so. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) 72nd (27:37).

The women’s top runner was Laura Blittman (fr. Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) with a time of 25:01 for 90th place. Katelyn Sammon (jr. Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) was 123rd in 25:50 and Laura O’Mara (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) was 136th in 26:36. The pack also included Dana Baffuto (so. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) 163rd (28:26) and Kelly McLaughlin (so. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.) 165th (28:46).

Next weekend, Rowan travels to Goucher College in Baltimore, MD on Saturday, October 7 for the Mid-Atlantic Classic at 10 a.m.
