GLASSBORO, NJ – The Kean University women’s volleyball team beat Rowan University, 3-2 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday.
Kean improves to 10-4 overall and 2-2 in the NJAC. Rowan’s record stands at 3-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
The Cougars won with game scores of 30-28, 18-30, 30-22, 13-30 and 15-10. Kean was led by outside hitter Elizabeth Bauer (sr. Rahway, NJ/Rahway) with 17 kills and 21 digs. Outside hitter Alicja Ciastoch (jr. Teaneck, NJ/Immaculate Conception) added 11 kills, 14 digs and five service aces. Setter Colleen Masterson (fr. Rahway, NJ/Roselle Catholic) totaled 34 assists, 10 digs and two aces.
For the Profs, outside hitter Alexis Louie (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) recorded 19 kills and four service aces. Outside hitter Theresa Pecoraro (jr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) posted eight digs and three aces. Outside hitter Karen Ramirez (fr. Bogota, NJ/Bogota) contributed seven kills and four aces. Setter Chrissy McKay (fr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) had 25 assists and seven digs.
Rowan hosts Valley Forge Christian College on Saturday, September 30 at 1 p.m., while Kean travels to Cabrini College for a tri-match beginning at 11 a.m.
