Rowan Defeats William Paterson In Overtime, 1-0

GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Rachel Cheafsky scored the game winning goal in overtime to give the Rowan University field hockey team a 1-0 win over New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponent William Paterson University on Saturday.

Cheafsky (jr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) knocked in a pass from forward Amanda Greene (so. Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester) at the 81:26 mark in the first overtime. Rowan improves to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC. William Paterson is 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Rowan outshot William Paterson, 13-6. Goalie Amanda Cucinotti (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) made six saves for the Profs. It was her fourth shutout of the season. Pioneers’ goalie Grace Browne (sr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) stopped 11 shots.

Rowan hosts top ranked Salisbury University on Tuesday, September 26 at 4 p.m.
