GLASSBORO, NJ – Midfielder Susan Massara scored one goal and had two assists to lead Rowan University over visiting Cabrini College, 4-1 on Thursday night.
Rowan, ranked seventh, has an overall record of 4-2 while Cabrini drops to 3-5 on the season. The Profs scored two goals in each half and they were up 4-0 before the Cavaliers spoiled the shutout.
Massara (jr. Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) put Rowan on the scoreboard at 12:05 with an assist from back Kacey Ehret (fr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood). Forward Rachel Cheafsky (jr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) had the second goal (13:25) on a pass from forward Danielle Miranda (jr. Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive).
Forward Kiley Graham (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) made the score 3-0 (55:01) when she connected on a penalty corner by Massara. For the fourth goal, Massara’s shot was tipped in (55:41) by forward Amanda Greene (so. Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester). Cabrini’s lone goal scored by midfielder April Kaufman (sr. Boothwyn, PA/Chichester) came with 42 seconds left
Rowan compiled 34 shots while Cabrini only took two. For the Cavaliers, goalie Elissa Salantri (so. Wycombe, PA/Council Rock, N.) stopped 12 shots and the Profs’ goalie Amanda Cucinotti (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) had one save.
Rowan has its first conference game at home on Saturday, September 23 against William Paterson University at 1 p.m.
