CHESTER, PA – The Widener University volleyball team defeated visiting Rowan University, 3-1 on Wednesday night. Widener (6-4) won with the scores of 30-16, 30-18, 27-30 and 30-8.

Rowan (2-8) had eight kills apiece from Karen Ramirez (fr. Bogota, NJ/Bogota) and Alexis Louie (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.). Theresa Pecoraro (jr. Cresskill, J/Cresskill) followed with seven kills. Chrissy McKay (fr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) totaled 20 assists and eight digs. Ramirez and Pecoraro each added eight digs. Louie was the service ace leader with four.

Rowan’s next match is at conference opponent Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday, September 19 at 7 p.m.
