Ursinus Defeats Rowan In Double Overtime, 3-2

COLLEGEVILLE, PA – Midfielder Jennie Moore scored in the second overtime to give seventh ranked Ursinus College a 3-2 victory over fourth ranked Rowan University.

Moore (so. Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) knocked in a pass from midfielder Katie Mastoris (so. Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) at 88:47. In the second period, midfielder Susan Massara (jr. Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) gave Rowan a 2-1 lead at 37:55 with an assist from forward Rachel Cheafsky (jr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City). Ursinus forward Lindsay Cappa (jr. Oley, PA/Oley) sent the game into overtime with a goal at 66:51 off a pass from Moore.

In the first stanza, Ursinus got on the scoreboard at 6:51 when forward Lindsay Cappa (jr. Oley, PA/Oley) scored on a feed by forward Jess Rogers (sr. Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove). Rowan tied the score at one after a goal from forward Kiley Graham (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) on a penalty corner. Massara picked up the assist.

Ursinus outshot Rowan, 20-9. Bears goalie Jess Lamina (jr. Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks W.) made seven saves. Goalie Amanda Cucinotti (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) stopped 15 shots for the Profs.

Rowan (3-1) travels to Messiah College on Thursday, September 14 for a 7 p.m. game. Ursinus (2-1) hosts Bryn Mawr College on Wednesday, September 13 at 4:30 p.m.
