Rowan Storms Past FDU-Florham, 8-1

FLORHAM, NJ – Forward Danielle Miranda scored three goals to lead Rowan University over host FDU-Florham, 8-1 in a nonconference game.

Miranda (jr. Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) had all three goals in the second half, one was a penalty stroke. Midfielder Susan Massara (jr. Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) contributed with two goals while forwards Rachel Cheafsky (jr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) and Kiley Graham (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and back Kacey Ehret (fr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) each added one. Ehret also assisted on two goals.

Rowan was ahead 4-0 at the half. The Profs added two more goals in the second period before the Devils got on the scoreboard. Miranda had the two goals with the first one on a stroke. Forward Colleen Weimer (jr. Atlantic Highlands, NJ/Henry Hudson) scored FDU’s goal. Massara answered with her second goal and Miranda had the last one of the game.

Rowan totaled 20 shots while FDU only took four. In the Profs’ net, Amanda Cucinotti (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) made three saves. This week, Cucinotti was honored as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Week. The Devils had four players that shared the goalie duties and they combined for eight saves.

Rowan returns to its conference schedule at Montclair State University on Saturday, October 14 at 1 p.m.
