POMONA, NJ – The Rowan University men’s cross country team took second place at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships and the women finished fourth. The conference championships were held at Richard Stockton College on Saturday.
Erik Geisinger (sr. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) was the Profs’ first runner to cross the finish in fourth place with a time of 26:00.51. James Buinicky (fr. Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade) came in 11th in 26:54.62. Greg Kuczynski (so. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) finished 13th (26:59.41) and Andrew Vasta (so. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) was 17th (27:25.85). Also scoring was Eric Thomas (so. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) who was 20th (27:50.65).
For the women, Laura Blittman (fr. Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) took 12th place with a time of 25:36.49. Katelyn Sammon (jr. Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) was 15th (26:05.41) and Jennifer Lippincott (fr Magnolia, NJ/Gloucester) was 19th (26:48.66). Rounding out the top five were Laura O’Mara (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) and Therese Jones (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) in 21st (27:00.35) and 22nd (27:12.72) place respectively.
Rowan will have a weekend off before the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday, November 11 at Letchworth State Park in Geneseo, NY.
