POMONA, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team defeated New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) host Richard Stockton College, 2-0 on Saturday.
The Profs, ranked 12th in the nation, are 11-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The Ospreys are 7-8 on the season with a 2-2 NJAC mark.
Midfielder Colleen McGowan (sr. Woodtown, NJ/Woodstown) put Rowan up 1-0 with an unassisted goal at 3:10. Stockton goalie Caitlin Nolan (sr. Riverside, NJ/Holy Cross) stopped forward Danielle Miranda (jr. Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) on a penalty stroke at 17:28.
In the second half, forward Amanda Greene (so. Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester) scored the second goal with four minutes remaining. Rowan totaled 29 shots while Stockton only had two.
Prof goalie Amanda Cucinotti (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) made one save for her sixth shutout. Nolan finished the game with 20 saves.
Rowan’s next game is at Drew University on Thursday, October 26 at 4 p.m.
