GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men’s soccer team defeated New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponent Kean University, 1-0 on Saturday night.
Forward Jay Vigilante (so. Manasquan, NJ/Wall) scored the game winner with 24 seconds remaining in the first half on a shot from the edge of the penalty area. The unassisted goal was his fourth of the season.
Rowan had 19 shots on goal while Kean took 11. Profs goalkeeper Anthony Clemente (sr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) recorded five saves, for his fourth shutout. Kyle Crego (jr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) collected eight saves in 69:43 for the Cougars. Chris Chaban (fr. Hillside, NJ/Union Catholic) made one save after replacing Crego.
The victory improves the Profs’ record to 9-7-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the NJAC. The Cougars are 7-6-5 overall and 3-3-2 in the conference.
Rowan plays its final game of the regular season at The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, October 25 at 5 p.m.
