SELINSGROVE, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team lost two matches in the first day of the Hampton Inn Crusader Classic. Catholic University and host Susquehanna University both defeated Rowan, 3-0.

In the first match, Catholic won 30-16, 30-25 and 30-25. Outside hitter Karen Ramirez (fr. Bogota, NJ/Bogota) totaled 14 kills and outside hitter Alexis Louie (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) contributed with nine. Outside hitter Theresa Pecoraro (jr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill), setter Chrissy McKay (fr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus), Louie and Ramirez each had nine digs.

Against Susquehanna, Ramirez compiled 10 kills while Louie had seven. Ramirez also contributed with 14 digs. McKay recorded 17 assists. The Crusaders (15-18) had game scores of 30-16, 30-20, 30-20.

The Profs have an overall record of 6-15. On Saturday at the invitational, Rowan plays York College (PA) at 11 a.m. and Richard Stockton College at 1 p.m.
