CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Rowan University men’s cross country team took second place out of 13 schools at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships. The women’s team finished in fourth place out of 10 schools.
Erik Geisinger (sr. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) completed the 8,000 meter course in 26:52.74 for third place. Dan Urban (sr. Clarksboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) took 12th place in 27:42.83, followed by Greg Kuczynski (so. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) 13th (27:53.87) and James Buinicky (fr. Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade) 14th (28:02.00). Rounding out the team scoring was Andrew Vasta (so. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) in 17th place (28:19.91).
The women competed on the 5,000 meter course. Laura Blittman (fr. Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) had an 11th place finish in 21:40.27. Katelyn Sammon (jr. Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) took 20th in 22:18.55 and Therese Jones (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) was 28th (22:49.04). Also scoring for the Profs were Jennifer Lippincott (fr. Magnolia, NJ/Gloucester) 32nd (23:09.36) and Laura O’Mara (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) 36th (23:19.90).
Rowan’s next meet is the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships on Saturday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. held on the campus of Richard Stockton College in Pomona, NJ.
