Ramapo Outlasts Rowan, 2-1

GLASSBORO, NJ – Midfielder Arturo Moreria scored the winning goal for Ramapo College in a 2-1 conference win over Rowan University on the road Thursday night.

Moreria (jr. Lodi, NJ/Lodi) recorded the game winner on a direct kick at 76:59. It was his third goal on the season and third winner. The Roadrunners are 10-3 overall and 3-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). The Profs have an overall record of 7-6-2 and a 1-4-1 conference mark.

Ramapo jumped out to an early lead on midfielder Ryan Jelderks’ (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) goal at 4:12. Jelderks knocked in a rebound and midfielder Auturo Moreira (sr. Saddle River, NJ/Northern Highlands) picked up the assist.

Rowan tied the scored at 19:51. Forward Jay Vigilante (so. Manasquan, NJ/Wall) tapped in a cross with assists from forward Matt Flynn (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) and Robert McMullen (sr. Barrington, NJ/Northern Burlington).

Ramapo compiled 22 total shots while Rowan had 14. For the Roadrunners, goalie Patrick Jagodzinski (sr. Lebanon, NJ/Immaculata) made seven saves. In the Profs’ goal, Anthony Clemente (sr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) stopped seven shots.

Rowan travels to Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, October 14 for a 7 p.m. conference game. Ramapo hosts NJAC opponent Richard Stockton on Saturday at 1 p.m.
