Pitcher Lauren Shannon (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) helped lead the softball team to a pair of victories on its opening weekend. She went 2-0 with a 0.68 earned run average (ERA) and eight strikeouts. Shannon pitched four scoreless innings with five strikeouts in a 7-0 victory over Methodist University (Feb. 23). She picked up her second win in an 8-3 triumph over Randolph College (Feb. 24), tossing five shutout frames and surrendering just two hits while fanning three batters. Shannon was named the NJAC Pitcher of the Week.
