Guard Anyssa Sanchez (sr. Pine Hill, NJ/Sterling) earned the first NJAC Player of the Week honor of the campaign after leading the women’s basketball team to three wins, including the Neumann Tip-Off Tournament crown. She averaged 19.0 points and 8.7 rebounds, while adding 10 steals and shooting a blistering 67.6 percent from the field. Sanchez recorded a double-double of 20 points and 16 boards in the tournament opener against Mount St. Vincent (Nov. 18) then followed up with 25 points and a career-high-tying six steals in the championship game against Neumann (Nov. 19). Sanchez was named the Tournament MVP for her efforts.
