First baseman Damariz Mercado (jr. Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) was named the Most Outstanding Player at the NCAA Cortland Regional (May 13-15). She earned New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week honors. In four games, she went 5-for-12 (.417) with four runs, five RBIs, one double, one homer and two walks. For the season, Mercado is hitting .230 and has 14 runs scored and 22 knocked in.
