Right-hander Steven Melchiorre (sr. Atco, NJ/Hammonton, NJ) had two wins en route to the baseball team’s New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship. In the first round, he threw seven innings in a 13-0 shutout over Richard Stockton College. He only allowed four hits. In the final game, Melchiorre went eight innings in a 5-3 victory. He struck out 10 batters. For his performance, Melchiorre was named the NJAC Player of the Week. He has a 7-3 record with a 2.01 earned run average. In 76 innings, he has totaled 77 strikeouts and held opponents to a .206 batting average.
