Max Tyburski (jr. Burke, VA/Lake Braddock Secondary) guided the men’s swim team to a first place finish at the Swarthmore College Invitational (Dec. 2-3).  He swam on the first place 200 (1:34.04) and 400 (3:24.91) medley and 200 (1:22.81) and 800 (6:59.09) freestyle relays.  The 400 medley relay time was a NCAA B cut (3:25.98) and broke the school record of 3:26.89 (March 1999).  The 200 freestyle relay set a school mark and had a NCAA B cut (1:23.51).  The previous time was 1:24.25 (March 1996).  The 800 freestyle relay surpassed the previous school record of 6:59.73 (March 1999).  Tyburski was the individual winner in the 50 free (20.60) and 100 butterfly (50.27).  His times were better than the NCAA B cuts of 20.93 and 50.67 respectively.  He also placed third in the 100 freestyle (46.46).  For his performance, Tyburski was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Swimmer of the Week for the second time this year.
