First baseman Nicki Veneziano (fr. Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) led the softball team with a .375 batting average and five runs scored last week. Against Farmingdale State College (May 7), she went two for four with two runs scored, one RBI, one stolen base and a triple. Veneziano added one run scored against Eastern Connecticut State College (May 9). In the final game of the season against William Paterson University (May 10), she was four for four with two runs scored, one RBI, a double and a home run. Veneziano finished her rookie season with a .328 batting average, team-high 38 runs scored, 15 RBIs, 15 stolen bases, four doubles, three triples and two homers.
