Kyle Hayes (so. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) was the winner in the long jump at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships (Feb. 14). His jump of 23’ 2.75” (7.08 meters) was better than the NCAA provisional (22’ 10”, 6.96 meters). It was his best distance this season surpassing his previous provisional leap of 23’ (7.01 meters) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 7). Hayes ran the first leg of the second place 4x200 meter relay (1:32.38) and he came in eighth in the triple jump (42’ 1.25”, 12.83 meters). He earned New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season.
