Two Profs Named to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Teams

PHILADELPHIA, PA –Rowan University student-athletes Steve Tucker and Samantha Rottkamp were named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Academic All-Area Teams.
A team captain, Tucker (sr. Pittsgrove, NJ/Sacred Heart) has a 3.266 grade point average (GPA) in health and exercise science. This season, he earned New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Conference second team honors in the 200 yard butterfly. Tucker swam the Profs’ top times in the 50 yard freestyle (21.98) and 100 (53.84) and 200 (2:00.11) yard butterflies. He was also part of Rowan’s best 200 (1:26.38) and 400 (3:13.54) yard freestyle relays.
Rottkamp (so. Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland Reg.) was chosen the NJAC Diver of the Year for the second consecutive season. She received All-Conference first team honors in both the one and three meter diving. Rottkamp was selected the NJAC Diver of the Week five times. She won the one meter diving (434.20 points) at the Metropolitan Championships and placed second on the three meter board (404.65 points). Rottkamp is majoring in athletic training with a 3.29 GPA.
