NJAC Runners of the Week
Jena Peacock (so. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) earns NJAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for the fifth time this season after capturing the individual title at the 2009 NJAC Championship contested at Richard Stockton College. She became the first Rowan runner to claim the individual title since 1995 by placing first in a field of 65 total competitors in the 6K race with a winning time of 22:03. Peacock, who claimed NJAC Runner of the Year honors with her victory, helped propel the Profs to a second place team finish in the seven-team NJAC Championship.
Joy Hanke (fr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) becomes the second different Prof to earn NJAC Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week honors after traveling to Pomona to compete at the NJAC Championship hosted by Richard Stockton. She became the second consecutive Prof to claim NJAC Rookie of the Year honors after placing ninth overall in a field of 65 total competitors in the 6K race with a time of 24:24. Hanke, who earned second team all-conference honors for her finish, helped Rowan earn a second place finish in the seven-team NJAC Championship.
