ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's swimming and diving team topped William Paterson University, 134-103 on Wednesday night.
The Profs are 4-0 overall while the Pioneers have a 3-1 record. In the 200 medley relay,
Polina Dineva (fr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.),
Sam Wahl (jr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood),
Alyssa Schaefer (sr. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) and
Gigi Russo (sr. Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Reg.) finished first with a time of 1:58.35. Rowan won (1:44.09) the 200 freestyle relay with
Olivia Graham (jr. Montclair, NJ/Montclair),
Olivia Wojtowicz (jr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County), Russo and
Victoria Grimsgaard (jr. Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Reg.).
Rikki Berk (jr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) had a first place (12:00.54) in the 1000 freestyle. Graham won the 200 freestyle (2:05.64) and Dineva had victories in the 50 (25.68) and 100 (56.04) freestyles. Wojtowicz was the winner (1:06.83) in the 100 backstroke. Grimsgaard touched first (5:29.53) in the 500 free followed by
Nicole Vick (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.), second (5:37.99) and
Leanne Zaug (sr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park), third (5:44.86).
Amanda Burke (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) finished second (12:12.88) in the 1000 freestyle.
Julie Sheehan (so. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) came in second (2:06.52) in the 200 freestyle while Wojtowicz had a second place (26.39) in the 50 freestyle. Schaefer captured second (1:08.26) in the 100 butterfly. Grimsgaard was the runner-up (1:10.66) in the 100 breaststroke and Berk was third (1:13.06).
Julia DelNero (jr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) came in second (2:22.92) in the 200 individual medley (IM) and Russo followed in third (2:24.89).
Ana Cubit (fr. Maple Glen, PA/Upper Dublin) had second places in the one (163.13) and three (153.83) meter diving.
Cayleigh McCusker (fr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Holy Spirit) had a third place (1:10.78) in the 100 backstroke.
For William Paterson, Vera Blazevska (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) finished first in the 200 IM (2:21.08) and 100 breaststroke (1:10.17). Christine Gustafson (so. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) won (1:05.79) the 100 butterfly. Courtney Lawler (so. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.) was victorious in the one (172.13) and three (163.95) meter diving.
Next, Rowan travels to face St. Francis College and St. Francis University on Saturday, November 8 at 1 p.m. in Brooklyn, NY.
