Tony Racioppi was one of the top quarterbacks in Rowan football history, making an impact in just two seasons (2001-02) on the gridiron.
He received All-American honors in 2001 when he was named to the Division III All-America Third Team and the
Football Gazette All-America Team. Racioppi was chosen as the NJAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002 while earning All-Conference First Team honors both seasons.
Racioppi was 21-3 as a starter and passed for 5,530 yards and 62 touchdowns, which included 2,600 yards and 37 touchdowns in his first year. He owns the Rowan record for pass efficiency in a season (171.2 in 2001) and career (150.4) and in 2002, set the mark with 11 consecutive games in which he passed for 200-plus yards.
The native of Tinton Falls, NJ, threw seven touchdown passes in the 53-21 win over Montclair State in 2001, which still stands as the Rowan record. In that game, he tossed five touchdowns in the second quarter, a mark that is tied as the NCAA Division III record.
