A two-sport athlete, Murray received the Albert F. White Award his senior year in 1980. For four years, he was an outfielder for the Profs’ baseball team and a defensive back on the football team. Murray earned All-Conference honors in both sports. He played on the NCAA Division III Championship baseball teams in 1978 and 1979. Murray was drafted in the fifth round by the San Diego Padres and played professionally from 1980-85.
