In 1973, she won the AIAW national championship in the 50-yard and 100-yard breaststroke and served as the team captain in 1975. At the time of her induction, she held the school records for those events, which have since been broken.
In field hockey, Bower was named to the All-College Team three times and was the Evelyn M. Reade Award recipient in her senior year.
After graduating in 1975, Bower went on to a teaching career.
