Leonist Devero was the NCAA Champion in the 110 High Hurdles in 1980 as he clocked a time of 14.42 and then earned All-American honors in 1981 by finishing in fourth place in the event. In both of those NCAA Championships, Glassboro State took home the national team titles.
A member of the football team for one season, Devero was the New Jersey Athletic Conference champion in the 110 high hurdles for four consecutive years.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and also became a member of the Shore Athletic Club’s Hall of Fame.
