She was a standout field hockey player for four years. Sparano also lettered in basketball, lacrosse and softball. She was captain of the field hockey and basketball teams. Sparano was selected to the New Atlantic Field Hockey Association first team. She served as president of Pi Epsilon.

In 1968, Sparano graduated and was president of Pi Epsilon. Sparano graduated from Audubon High School.
