Dominic Carrera earned All-NJSAC First Team honors for three consecutive years as a member of the Glassboro State basketball team, while compiling 1,147 career points, which ranks 17th on the school’s all-time scoring list.
The guard played from 1972 to 1974, in which the Profs had three consecutive winning records. A team captain as a junior and senior, Carerra was named the Philadelphia All-Area College first team in 1973 and 1974 and was the Profs’ MVP for those seasons as well. During his career, he earned the Herb Goode Basketball Club Player of the Week award five times.
Following graduation in 1974 with a degree in mathemathics, Carerra was an assistant basketball coach at the University for five seasons (1979-83, 1988-89). He was later inducted into the South Jersey Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Gloucester Catholic High School Wall of Fame in 1996.
