Dr. Brandon Olaya, DAT, ATC, NASM-PES, has been with Rowan’s Sports Medicine Department as an Assistant Athletic Trainer since September 2022. 
 
A Rowan alum, Olaya brings an extensive amount of both clinical and collegiate experience to the Profs, and additionally serves as an assistant athetic trainer with the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). 

Prior to making his return to Rowan, he was the Athletic Trainer/Director of Recovery Services at Reconstructive Orthopedics in Pitman, NJ, while also having worked at the Rothman Institute in Marlton, NJ, during his career.  
 
He worked in the Lincoln University athletic department for four years, first as Assistant Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Olaya was then promoted to Head Athletic Trainer/Director of Sports Medicine in 2018 where he oversaw the athletic training services for Lincoln’s 13 NCAA Division II teams.
 
Olaya held an athletic training internship at Morgan State University and was a graduate assistant at California University of Pennsylvania and gained experience in professional sports while serving internships with the Philadelphia Soul and the Philadelphia Wings.
 
Originally from Vineland, NJ, he graduated from Rowan in 2014 with his bachelor’s in athletic training, and then received his master’s from California University, before earning his doctor of athletic training degree in 2018 from Temple University. While an undergraduate in Rowan's Athletic Training Education Program, he worked with Profs' teams as well as at Timber Creek Regional High School and Cumberland County College.
 
Olaya and his wife, Melissa, have two sons, Brycen and Julian.
