Results

TROY, NY – The Rowan University women’s track and field team competed at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday.  The two-day championships continued on Friday at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. 

Shantel Beckford (fr. Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) finished fourth (12.59) in the prelims of the 100 meters.  She will run in the final on Friday at 1:35 p.m.  Melissa Lake (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) took fifth in the javelin with a toss of 132’ 6” (40.40 meters).  The 4x400 meter relay ran 3:55.87 for seventh place.  The relay included Tashay Wilson (fr. Hillside, NJ/Hillside), Alexus Streater (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown), Brianna Streater (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Melirah Searcy (fr. Edison, NJ/Edison). 

Jessica Carlson (so. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) came in 12th in the 100 meter hurdles (15.18) while Jamie Thompson (so. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) was 17th (15.52).  Jenn Rawls (jr. Runnemede, NJ/Highland Reg.) was 13th (18:00.64) in the 5000 meters. 

Danielle Czohla (sr. Lafayette, NJ/High Point Reg.) finished 15th (11:36.54) in the 3000 meter steeplechase.  Meghan Borz (so. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) took 17th in the 10000 meters with a career best of 39:41.48.  Jess Lomanaco (so. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) came in 22nd in the hammer (118’ 9.5”, 36.21 meters).
