Rowan Wins 4x400 Meter Relay And DuBois Takes First In 5000 Meters At ECAC Championships

TROY, NY – The Rowan University men’s 4x400 meter relay took first place and Eric DuBois won the 5000 meters at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Thursday.  The two-day championships continue on Friday at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. 

The 4x400 meter relay ran 3:14.73 with the team of Jayce Maxwell (sr. Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan), Taylor Purdue (jr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.), Ali Ejaz (jr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) and Demetrius Rooks (jr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami).  DuBois (sr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) recorded a season best time of 14:33.97 and a ECAC meet record.  The old mark was 14:43.04 by the University of Rochester's Brian Lang (2011).  

Steven Iafrate (so. Closter, NJ/Demarest) finished sixth in the javelin with a throw of 184’ 3.5” (56.17 meters).  Brandon Taylor (jr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) finished 10th (10.93) in the 100 meters and Marcus Rawls (so. North Brunswick, NJ/Florence Twp. Mem.) came in 23rd (11.12).
