Peacock And Beckford Earn NJAC Women's Indoor Track Performer Of The Week Honors

NJAC Performers of the Week

Jena Peacock (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) earns NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season after traveling to New York City to compete at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational hosted by the New York Armory. She placed ninth in a field of 35 competitors in the 5,000 meters with an ECAC qualifying time of 17:15.27. She also was a member of the Profs’ distance medley relay which placed 10th in a field of 20 teams with an ECAC qualifying and school-record time of 12:06.17. Peacock’s performance in the 5,000 meters currently ranks as the second best NCAA Division III women’s time in the event, while the Rowan DMR mark also stands as the second best qualifying time recorded in Division III this season.

Shantel Beckford (fr. Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after traveling to Collegeville, PA to compete at the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus. She placed first in a field of 18 competitors in the 60 meter dash with a season-best and ECAC qualifying time of 8.08. Beckford also placed second in a field of 18 competitors in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying runner-up leap of 10.32 meters.
