NJAC Athletes of the Week
Mike Carotenuto (jr. Port Monmouth, NJ/Middletown N.) earns NJAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors after traveling to Collegeville, PA to compete at the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus. He placed first in an a field of 37 competitors in the mile run with a winning time of 4:23.42. He also was a member of the Profs’ distance medley relay which placed first in a field of four teams with a winning ECAC qualifying time of 10:29.58. His performance in the mile currently ranks as the 18th best men’s NCAA Division III time recorded in the event this year, while Rowan’s distance medley relay time currently ranks fourth best in Division III. The performances by Carotenuto helped propel the Profs to a first place finish in the 14-team meet.
Phil Guilford (fr. Atlantic City, NJ/Buena Reg.) earns NJAC Men’s Indoor Rookie of the Week honors after traveling to Collegeville, PA to compete at the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus. He competed as a member of Rowan’s distance medley relay which placed first in a field of four teams with a winning ECAC qualifying time of 10:29.58. He also was a member of the Profs’ 4x400 meter relay which placed second with an ECAC qualifying time of 3:25.37. The Profs’ winning time in the DMR currently ranks as the fourth fastest Division III mark in the nation, while the performance by Rowan’s 4x400 relay currently ranks 15th best in Division III.
