IWLCA Academic Honor Roll
GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University lacrosse players Alli Dickey and Kaitlyn Molzon were selected to the 2010 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll.
This year, the IWLCA honored 184 student-athletes from 81 different institutions. To be nominated a player must be a junior or senior with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 or in the top 10 percent of their squad.
A midfielder, Dickey (jr. Stevensville, MD/Kent Island) has a 3.710 GPA in mechanical engineering. Molzon (sr. Howell, NJ/St. Rose) is majoring in elementary education and has a GPA of 3.684. Both players received New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Academic honors and were Rowan Scholar-Athletes. It is the second time Molzon was chosen to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and the first for Dickey.
This season, Dickey was tied for first in scoring on the team with 42 points. She compiled 30 goals and 12 assists. She was also first in ground balls (41) and second in draw controls (46). Dickey contributed with 17 caused turnovers. She was chosen to the IWLCA All-Region and NJAC All-Conference first teams.
A defender, Molzon totaled 26 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. She was a member of the IWLCA All-Region second team for the second straight year and received All-Conference honorable mention.
Rowan ended the season with an 11-6 record and won the conference title with a 5-0 mark. The Profs made their eighth appearance and third straight in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
