Peacock Takes 11th in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase at the NCAA Division III Championships

BEREA, OH – Rowan University runner Jena Peacock took 11th place in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday. The national championships are being held at Baldwin-Wallace College from Thursday-Saturday, May 27-29.

Peacock (so. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) recorded a time of 10:52.58. She broke her own school mark of 10:53.72, which she set at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships (May 13). Jacqui Wentz of Massachusetts Institute of Technology won the steeplechase with a time of 10:16.16.

Heading into the NCAA Championships, Peacock ranked 15th among the participants in the 3000 meter steeplechase. She earned NJAC All-Conference first team honors. Peacock was selected the NJAC Track Athlete of the Week four times this season.

At the national championships on Saturday, Jenn Rawls (fr. Runnemede, NJ/Highland Reg.) will compete in the women’s 5000 meters at 3:15 p.m.
