CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Rowan University men’s and women’s cross country teams ran at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday. The women’s team took 11th place out of 21 teams while the men were 15th among 24 schools.

Angie Caraballo (fr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) was the first runner to finish the 6K race for the Prof women. Caraballo was 39th in 25:33.49. Samantha Stapleton (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) came in 47th (25:47.11) while Priscilla Antuna (fr. Waretown, NJ/Southern Reg.) was 59th (26:04.69). Michelle Esten (jr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) finished 82nd (27:19.88) and Danielle Czohla (jr. Lafayette, NJ/High Point Reg.) was 100th (27:47.95).

For the men, Stephen Hoffman (jr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) took 22nd place. He ran a time of 27:53.08 on the 8K course. Pat Rindt (jr. Aberdeen, NJ/Matawan Reg.) came in 86th (29:23.65). Andrew Gulya (so. Edison, NJ/John P. Stevens) was 104th (29:45.18). Richard McKean (fr. Pennsauken, NJ/Paul VI) finished 116th (30:10.67) followed by Tom Gallaher (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) 117th (30:11.66).

Next week, Rowan competes at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Saturday, October 16 which will be held at Gloucester County College. The women’s race is at noon followed by the men at 12:30 p.m.
