USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic Track and Field Team
NEW ORLEANS, LA – Rowan University’s Sean Biehn was chosen to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Track and Field Team.
The USTFCCCA honors student-athletes for their academic and athletic achievements during both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. In order to qualify for the All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or higher and have earned a NCAA automatic or provisional in their respective event.
Biehn (jr. Edgewater Park, NJ/Burlington City) captured fourth place in the javelin at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships (May 21) to earn All-America honors. He recorded a throw of 200’ 1” (60.98 meters). A Rowan scholar-athlete, he has a 3.468 GPA in music education.
Biehn recorded NCAA provisionals three times this season. The NCAA Division III automatic is 205’ 1” (62.50 meters), while the provisional is 188’ 8” (57.50 meters). Biehn’s top throw of the season was 204’ 6” (62.34 meters) at the NYC Qualifying Challenge (May 9). He won the javelin at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet with a throw of 197’ 10” (60.29 meters) (May 11). Biehn placed second at the NYC Qualifying Challenge, Lions’ Invitational (193’ 9”, 59.06 meters) (Apr. 25) and the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships (187’ 8”, 57.20 meters) (Apr. 19). He was third at the Penn Invitational with a throw of 181’ 2” (55.21 meters). Biehn also took 10th at the Wake Forest Open with 187’ 1” (57.03 meters). He was chosen the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Field Athlete of the Week two-times. Biehn received NJAC All-Academic Team honorable mention.
