CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-District Teams
GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University student-athlete Greg Kuczynski was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Men’s Track and Field/Cross Country Team for the second consecutive year.
The members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) by districts selected the Academic All-District teams. To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 or higher cumulative grade point average and be a starter or significant reserve. The District II College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
In cross country, Kuczynski (sr. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) finished 56th at the NCAA Atlantic Regional with a time of 27:20. He took eighth at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships (26:22.80) to earn All-Conference second team honors for the fourth straight season. Kuczynski was the individual winner at the Delaware Invitational with a time of 27:04. He recorded season bests of 26:22.80 in the 8K and 19:50.70 in the 6K.
In outdoor track, he posted Rowan’s top time in the 3000 meters (8:58.73) and was second in the 5000 meters (15:25.79). Kuczynski was also part of the Profs’ top 4x800 meter relay that recorded a time of 8:29.81.
For the second straight year, Kuczynski was given the Rowan University Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete Award for having the highest GPA among the University’s male student-athletes. He was chosen the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Cross Country Performer of the Year and collected Academic All-Area honors for the third year in a row. Kuczynski is a three-time United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team selection. He also received his second NJAC Academic All-Conference first team honor. Kuczynski is a civil engineering major with a 3.947 cumulative GPA.
