NJAC All-Conference Team
GLASSBORO, NJ – Three Rowan University women’s lacrosse players were selected to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Conference Team. This is the first ever All-Conference Team for women’s lacrosse.
Midfielders Kelly Angstadt (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Carly Welsh (sr. Allenwood, NJ/Wall) and defender Kaitlyn Molzon (jr. Howell, NJ/Saint Rose) all earned All-Conference first team honors.
A tri-captain, Angstadt leads the Profs with 45 points (29 goals, 16 assists), 51 draw controls and 31 ground balls. She is also second on the team with 21 caused turnovers. In the conference, Angstadt ranks fourth in draw controls (3.19), fifth in caused turnovers (1.31) and sixth in assists (1.0). She is ninth in points (2.81), 11th in ground balls (1.94) and 12th in goals (1.81).
Welsh has totaled 43 points with a team-high 32 goals and 11 assists. She has tallied 30 ground balls, 21 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers. Welsh is tied for second in the NJAC in game-winning goals (four). She is tied for ninth in goals (2.0), 11th in assists (0.69) and points (2.69), tied for 13th in ground balls (1.88) and 19th in draw controls (1.31).
Molzon (jr. Howell, NJ/Saint Rose) has posted 14 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. In the NJAC, she ranks 19th in caused turnovers (0.8).
The Profs have an 8-8 record and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Rowan travels to Union College in Schenectady, NY for the first round on Wednesday, May 6 at 4 p.m.
