All-America teams
MONTCLAIR, NJ – Rowan University softball player Jackie Sasko was named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-America First Team. The All-America teams were announced on Thursday night at the national championship banquet.
A pitcher, Sasko (sr. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) was an at-large selection. It was the second straight year she received All-America first team honors. In 27 starts, Sasko compiled a 21-5 record with 13 shutouts and a 1.07 earned run average. She recorded 181 strikeouts in 177 innings pitched and her opponents had a .157 batting average.
Sasko was selected the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Pitcher of the Year and to the NFCA East All-Region and All-Conference first teams. She was chosen the conference Pitcher of the Week twice and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week one time. In addition, she received the Dr. Mary A. Rice Scholar Athlete Award. She was a team captain and a Rowan Scholar Athlete.
Rowan finished the season with a 35-12 record. The softball team made its 18th appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
